It’s so interesting to me what happens in events like that in Las Vegas. People come together under stressful, horrific circumstances and help each other through it. Complete strangers are helping each other out. Taking injured to the hospital.
While watching one of the news briefings with the sheriff, the reporters were becoming obsessed with the number of people killed or injured. It’s all that some of them could focus on.
It got me thinking
I’m tired of being a number. I’m tired of humans being numbers. Another statistic for the news media. Another conversion for marketers.
Now, don’t get me wrong, these numbers are necessary for a lot of reasons. Yet I wonder if sometimes we get so lost in the numbers that we forget the life behind that number. The person buying the music, the person who lost their life, the family who lost their loved one.
We are living, breathing organisms who have purpose and meaning.
Don’t lose sight of it. Don’t underestimate the incredible gift that you are to the world.
